We started our spring break trip in NYC! Staying at the Hotel Wellington - next door to Carnegie Hall. Today we walked through Chinatown, SoHo, Greenwich Village and Little Italy. We had lunch in Chinatown and dinner at LeMelas in Little Italy. Kevin & Claire discovered street vendors who don't let you walk away - "Hey kid, wanna buy a watch!" |

Sunday was bright and sunny. Kevin and Mark started the day with a jog in Central Park. We met cousin Allie and Aunt Ruth for lunch at Le Petit En Deux Trois in a beautiful garden room. We then walked across the Brooklyn Bridge and bussed to Williamsburg to see Grampa Mulert's childhood home. After a long nap we continued on with dinner at a Latin-Chinese restaurant, Dinastia and ended our long day atop the Empire State Building. |

Monday was rainy until mid-afternoon. But, we're on vacation and we don't let a little rain get in the way. So we donned our sick, aka ultra-cool, rain poncho's (just ask Kevin - not) and headed out for MoMA . . . along w/ every other tourist in New York! Lunch at a small cafe. Then on to some serious shopping. Kevin was stuck w/ Claire & Lee in Henri Bendel's for 15 minutes before Mark could rescue him. Kevin and Mark headed out to the NBA store, 42nd St Photo and B&H Photo. Mark only spent 2 hours looking at cameras and lenses and bought a 'Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-105mm1:3.5-5.6G ED w/ VR'. Lee, Claire & Amy went to some stores and bought some stuff. The sun came out and we headed to Midtown for pizza at Lombardi's. |

The rain cleared and we had a sunny, but a little chilly, day. Great for more walking. We began the day with a tour of the United Nations. We continued on the international theme with lunch at Ali Baba's Turkish Cafe. Great hummus, baba ganoush and eggplant pancakes. We then split into shopping vs. non-shopping activity. Kevin and I hit golf balls at a driving range towards New Jersey. I'm sure that Lee, Claire and Amy found something more to shop for. ;-) We had an awesome dinner downton at Amy's friend Jenny's restaurant, Annissa. Highlight of the day was K's adventurous dining. |

Culture day . . . two museums and a Broadway play. We also took a ride through Central Park & ended the day with late night NY Cheescake! |

Our last morning in NY. Mark saw Grand Central Station. We had a great train ride to Boston to visit Gammy Liz. A brief stop at Harvard Square, where we bought a few dozen books and then dinner at Legal Seafood. |

We wandered through Quincy Market, Beacon Hill, Commonwealth Avenue and finished the day with a lobster dinner at Gammy's. |

It was a cold and rainy day. But that was perfect for a Duck Boat Tour of Boston! Then it was home to Chicago after a great family trip. |
