Coach Grady's Report:Another game, another tie for the Warrior soccer team. The Warriors battled the host Glenbrook North Spartans to a 2-2 tie Tuesday evening in Northbrook. The game started well for the Warriors, as Leah Heller found Emily Kellow, who beat her defender before being fouled in the penalty area. Hannah calmly stepped up and buried the shot in the lower right corner for her first varsity goal and a 1-0 lead. The Spartans tied it in the 20th minute, but the Warriors regained the lead less than a minute later when Samara found Logan, whose shot from the right side was deflected in to the goal for a 2-1 lead. The Spartans applied pressure early in the second half, forcing several excellent saves from Bailey and hitting the post once. The Spartans got the tying goal with 16 minutes remaining, and almost got the winner, Amanda K made an outstanding play to clear the ball off the line. The Warriors had some late chances of their own, putting one shot just over the bar and another inches wide in the last 5 minutes. The tie leaves both teams at 1-0-1 in the conference.
